PLUGINS FOR FREE? SUBSCRIBERS TO ENGINEAR AUDIO'S BLOG WILL RECEIVE REFERRALS REGULARLY.

The initiative arose from requests from viewers of Enginear Audio's YouTube channel.

The beginning of the career in a recording studio is not an easy one. All those buttons, new instruments, unfamiliar sounds, expensive equipment... It all sounds like rocket science to inexperienced eyes and ears. Time passes and we learn that "not everything that shines is gold", and that the major part responsible for obtaining a good sound is not computed by the equipment, but by the artist's musical talent and the experience of the professionals involved in the production. Obviously, equipment can limit what you can do in the studio or on stage, but music is the most important part of this equation made up of several variables, but as for equipment, we are tempted to believe that the more of them we have, the more and better we will be able to succeed and this is not always true as excesses are almost always undesirable and they take away our focus at the main objective: Music. As time goes by, we get to know physical and virtual tools that become part of our arsenal of tools, and they are used as a solution to the problems we face, giving birth to a dilemma: Is it legal and healthy to appropriate someone else's tool, without valuing it and rewarding its creator for the effort put into creating it?

I came across this dilemma and realized that if I wanted to apply the sacred commandment that says: "-Love your neighbor as yourself…" I would need to give up using pirate software. In a third world country like Brazil, the price of virtual tools (which we call plugins) seems absurd by the eyes of those who make a professional living from music. Building a respectable arsenal seems impossible, but with financial discipline and strategic planning, over a few years, the serious professional can, from plugin to plugin, from black friday to black friday (laughs) gather a significant collection of virtual tools that will elevate the quality of your services and will allow you to achieve your goals in the studio in less time. And time is money.

Many years ago I decided to only work with original plugins. Giving up the tempting piracy forced me to focus on using the tools I had rather than those I didn't. From plugin to plugin, the collection grew and with every big job, the time came to invest in that financially challenging plugin package, as I needed it to get the job done. Faster. But the real happiness is when we add a tool like this to our collection and it doesn't cost us anything, but all of this in a legal and shareable way. And that's what Enginear Audio wants to share with each of its blog subscribers: Provide everyone the access to powerful plugins for free or in a super accessible way. This idea was born from mine observation to professional colleagues who decided to venture into the intricacies of technical production in studios or 'live', but lacked virtual tools to undertake their high-quality compositions, editions, mixes and masters. From now on, we will regularly share on our blog, indications of free plugins to you, our readers. And right away, let's share 6 plugins that we had previously shared in a closed list on Whatsapp. Here they are:

1- Fuse Audio Labs VREV-666 Spring Reverb

According to the manufacturer: “The VREV-666 is an incredibly rare spring reverb from the 1960s that was initially designed to alter the apparent acoustic properties of listening environments. Originally built for the BBC, this compact studio legend exudes typical rich, vibrant and unpredictable vibe of a true electromechanical reverb in a very authentic way."

On the manufacturer's website, there is even a playlist where we can hear the plugin in action, it is here below:

It's a much needed loudness meter with multi-channel capability! Those who have not yet mastered the concept of loudness and want to learn more about the topic can start with this video from Enginear Audio's Youtube channel (turn on automatic translation):

5- SonEQ by Sonimus
